Works > How Many Tongues Does It Take to Make a Color? (2017)

Commissioned for the 2017 Lofoten International Art Festival (LIAF) Biennial

How Many Tongues Does It Take to Make a Color? is part of an ongoing inquiry into the Museum of Future Memories as a shape-shifting space of prescience. A speculative text about the colour blue and modes of translation and labor in the Lofoten Islands was dispersed and inserted in private and public spaces throughout the village of Henningsvær. As participants find traces of what will be in the future through encountered texts, color and form then language becomes a site of exchange and memory that propels us collectively forward.
